Hahaha, that is good.
No way it could be real though. Those radar guns are pretty accurate, and even if they'd be allowed to fly low over a highway, there is no way that the radar gun would pick that up when it has to be at least 30+feet in the air.

Besides, there is no "Automatic" missile response system. To fire a weapon (this doesnt include chaff), you have to go hot, which means arming your weapons first.

The HARM missiles that they use to destroy enemy radar sites probably aren't sensitive enough to lock onto a hand held radar gun, anyway. Air defense radars put out a great deal more radiation than that.

Oh I'm sure it could pick up the signal form the gun. And I'm sure the Pilot got a chirp or two from his cockpit. Thought I very much doubt they'd have an automated firing device for an offensive device such as a missile. Still, a 300MPH speeding ticket. I'd loved to be the pilot that had to explain that one to his CO.

300 mph is hardly moving at all for an F-A 18 super Hornet, trust me, I live near Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point and those suckers fly over my house at 600+ mph and that shit is scary. My dog nearly crapped his fur the 1st time he heard that. LOL.
As far as the radar gun thing, doubt the pilot even picked that up. They are designed to pick up a much stronger radar signiture than the puny radar gun one puts out. Theirs are for picking up detections as far off as 100 miles for air to air missles and to pick up S.A.M. ( surface to air missle ) sites that put off radar signals strong enough to actually cook a frog with if you put it infront of the dish ( I know, I was a Marine and we did that at my MOS school, we talked the Hawk missle techs into letting us do it, red stone arsenal Alabama)
