Adjusting pushrods and rockers is a PITA, attempting to do them in my own.

I once forgot to tighten down the fuel line that ran into the carburetor. It cost me the car.

Yea... going lean is not exactly a good thing. But simple mistakes can cost you the most.

At least you've got a vette now you bastard lol.

did it just run lean or did it catch on fire?

My biggest headache so far has been changing plugs and wires on my 95 Trans Am... and also my current project of building my 92 RS and converting it to carb and the $$ its costing me to go from the 700R4 to the TH-400

Mine would be after installing a brand new Strange Engineering 12 bolt rearend I bought some Weld Draglites with some open ended lug nuts. I was putting the draglites on and the open ended lug nuts were screwed up they had gotten crome in the threads from the croming process. So about half way on they froze up and buldged out so I could not get them back off. I ended up busting 3 lug studs to get the wheel off. Had to pull the axle to remove the lug studs and install new ones. Then had to get another wheel and lug nuts. Luckly Jegs replaced everything for free. Even paid Strange for new lug studs!

It caught fire.

Edit: I had been changing the jets on the carburetor and I got a phone call (evil distractions) right as I was finishing up. So I went inside and took the call. I came back out and jumped in the car, eager to see if there would be a difference in how it ran. Turned the key and the engine started right up and ran for a few seconds until the line popped of the carb. In the car, I had no idea of what had just happened. So I turned the key again and gave the throttle a little pump. When I hit the gas, a huge red mushroom cloud rose up out of the engine compartment. I grabbed the hose and hosed out the fire in the engine compartment. The car sat in the back yard for about a year after that until I gave it away. An Army guy from Texas drove out and trailered it home, where it was the recipient of an LT4 swap.

To date...

Last weekend. Headache, not mistake.
Installing springs on a friends Trans Am.
Strut boot on the passenger foot was FUSED by rust to the strut.
Ended up needing a new boot and a new strut. AFTER taking it to a shop to have them fight with it.

The worst part...we HAD to get my friends car driveable.
So I took the strut and spring off Slowass and put it in his car to get him home.
Finally picking up a strut tomorrow, and should have my car driveable again Sunday morning when he comes back up here.
Biggest pain in the ass yet....

Helped anniversary ss put beehive springs on his LT1 car. After tightening down a spring, i was just wiggling it around to get the locks to fall into place, when the spring let loose. Fucking thing hit my eyeball at about 100mph, and made a cut under my eye. My initial reaction was that my eyeball was cut open bad, because there was blood and I couldn't see shit. It started to water like a fire-hydrant. After about an hour everything was normal except for the small cut just below my eye, could have been a lot worse.
