Usually taking air out of your tires makes a larger contact patch for you car to use for launch. Take a few PSI out each run, though sometimes adding air helps too.

Borrow some doughnuts for your non drive wheels.

Take out your subs, if you have any.

Take a shit before you go.

Fill the gas tank up, runing on fumes is a great way to lean out and melt a piston. Also on RWD cars it helsp with traction.

Hood up between runs if it's hot out.

If your running sportsman though, let the engine idle three - ten cars form staging to keep temps consistant.

Bring tools.

Bring plenty of water.

Remember your helmet.

Make sure you coolent is no mor ethan 2 years old. Beyond that and it begins to loose it's ability to cool at peak performance.

160* thermostat.

Gap your plugs.

91 octane or better.

Don't try to cut a good light if it's your first run, Learn how the track is that day.

You just said subs. Amps and the necessary wiring would also need to be removed. All but two speakers, as well.

Dude, the wiring being removed is reduanant and in some cases very time consuming if it's been hidden well. Making it not worth the time to do. Also, what if you, like I have six seperate component channels that you would have to remove? SHit last time I did my components it took me a weekend to install them and the amp all nice and perdy like. Subs yes, that's a good 20lbs there with the smallest of setups. But chasing speakers and removing the wiring for them jsut to save all of 2-10 lbs is not worth it for a weekend jaunt to the track when you consider time spent doing so. But, if your gonna strip the bitch out by all means.

Take your time! your first run, you need to learn the track and the car.

Sometimes granny shifting is better than spinning through all your gears.

Leave your ego at home, its for fun, dont hurt people or yourself by trying to show your ass.

If your on the bottle, purge at least 4 times before a run (personal oppinion).

If your running a wet nitrous system, check for fuel pooling if you miss a gear while spraying.

GET OFF THE CLUTCH during a burnout! Unless you really want that walk of shame

I'll add some other things as I think of them

One squirt about 3/4 to 1 sec long is about all you'll ever need. And you honestly only need to do it once per bottle to purify the gas in the line.

You learn about the clutch the hard way?

Yes to the clutch thing, I did, in the old rx-7 she burned up pretty good.

And no, its not to 'purify the gas in the line' its to remove the air pockets in the line. You purge every time you use the nitrous. Even a short run of nitrous can cause an accumulation of air in the nitrous line.
