And no, its not to 'purify the gas in the line' its to remove the air pockets in the line. You purge every time you use the nitrous. Even a short run of nitrous can cause an accumulation of air in the nitrous line.
|
Ehh, true enough cause Nitrous is air in a heavier form. I've never had the problem though. I got a logger for my runs and I also have my lines insulated.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! you should never make it past tech on doughnuts, and even if you do...most are rated for 50mph MAX. This is a bad idea; buy skinnies if you want skinnies.

Gas is HEAVY, run on a 1/4 tank for your best e.t.'s

Re: Drag Racing "Quick Tips"
If you are on street tires please go around the waterpit for the burnoutbox. Guys with slicks might not like you much when you throw some water down at the 60' mark.

I've ran doughnuts down the track many times.

Duh, helps off the line if the track isn't prepped well.
And if your runnign brackets it's a great way to keep your car consistant.

Orly? What if your running round robbin? It'll keep your engine cooler between runs because it won't try to keep your water a certain, higher, temp.

Re: Drag Racing "Quick Tips"
Please dont run doughnuts. It is unsafe. Im sorry to say that, but not only are they heavy, but they are not manufactured the same way a typical tire is, they do not react the same way a normal steel belted radial will.
If you want skinnies, buy some draglites. Other than that, stick with your normal tires/rims.

Never said it was safe, they are lighter than my stock fronts and I've seen them being ran way outside their reccomended specs. People underestimate the ability of these as skinnies. It may soudn stupid but hoenstly it's not much worse than running draglites. Not to mention the rims themselves care perfect for installing DLs.

I agree 100%.
Although I wouldn't ever do it.
I run Weld ProStar 15x3.5" fronts with a bias ply tire. At least at the track.
Crazy the difference.
On the 17x9.5" BFG KDW's and 17x11" Nitto DR's (on TTII's) I ran a 12.4 at 115.
On the 15x3.5" Hankook and 15x10" MT streets (on ProStars) I ran an 11.97 at 117.59.
Weather played a little role in this though.
Short times on the Nitto's = 1.868 (spinning...very little)
Short times on the MT's = 1.668 (bogging right about 60')
Best run on the MT's was a 1.810 though. No bog....just go. Still learning the set-up. Didn't have enough passes.
