Thats the point. The clutch should be let out. Some people dont understand that and want to play footsee with the petals because they are afraid of the rpms / losing the spin, which of course will result with a destroyed clutch.

For best ET, stage as shallow as possible. Light up the fist set of bulbs and creep up slowly, just enough to light the second set.
Mostly all of M/T's tires are bias ply: ET Drags, Et Streets, sportsman. The ET street drag radial is obviously a radial. If you run radials in the rear, you should run radials in the front. The same goes for bias ply tires, you should not mix the two, it can cause the car to pull and possibly cause you to lose control and hit the wall.

is using donuts for the front better than using your street tires?
even if your going on a weekend and you have a street car, do you still need a helmet?

The donuts are less resistance...so yes, they would make you a little bit quicker.
Although I do NOT like the idea of running 110+ MPH on them... NHRA rules state that if you run 13.99 or faster you need a helmet. At anytime. Some tracks require helmets for ALL cars. |

put the regular brake on gas it gradually up to like 2500 rpms no more otherwise you'll burn the internal clutches in the auto tranny and just go for it (pedal agressiveness is a expierience thing) after launching a few times get use to how hard you can stomp the gas without breaking loose... and if its your first time at the track or relatively new "dont put the cart before the horse" forget about the "big picture" and low times get use to your car, the track and what works and what doesnt work, like try different launch rpms but NEVER DO A NEUTRAL DROP that an excellent way to break the rear end, transmission... then when your use to or atleast alittle more confident go for the gold!!!!!

Bradenton and most other tracks will not allow Donut spares. They're only rated for 45~50 mph.
In addition to the advice Stephanie offered, I run BFG DR's. I go around the water box, back up until the DR's are wet, do a spin out of the water, enguage the Line Lock and do a 4~6 sec burn in 1st at 4500, release the lock and walk out at the same 4500 till the rear tires grab hard (fetch up). I also launch at 4500 till the clutch is out...but just barely. Staging early, or shallow allows you to leave earlier without Redlighting and sometimes leave the other person at the tree. ![]() Some will use second gear for burnout, some will not use water, some have a different approach altogether. This is what I do. Hope it helps.
