Our 12th annual fbody event is being held in memphis motorsports park on May 15-17, 2008. I would like to invite all camaro and firebird owners to register now, and corvettes, GTO's, and others non fbody cars can register after February 17th. This is a chance to learn or teach road racing, drag racing, auto cross, and a car show. This is a first come first serve basis and there are limited positions available. Our web site with online registration is up at www.CamaroFirebirdEvent.com or WWW.fbody-event.org
This is a private event open to only pre paid pre registered attendance (no one pays at the gate and gets in) and this is an all volenteer event, and if you want to volenteer we have instructors positions open, flag safety positions, drag racing tower positions, and my job as marketing. We all stay in the same hotel and hang out all night long talking and eating bbq's. Its just a great time. I have seen pistons being pulled in the parking lot of the hotel and i have heard the story of a rebuilt engine block in the hotel bathtub, hate to be cleaning lady there. I also watched them create a a multicolor duct tape flame job on a third gen camaro it looked so cool. we have attendance that come from all over including california, canada, england, and texas. the first time you come it is a great event, the second time it is family reunion, but this reunion you get to choose the family you like. just kidding, im sure you like everyone in your family This is a camaro firebird event that is in need of some corvette and other vehicles to fill out the remaining slots, all non f-bodys registration will open up on february 17th to fill all remaining slots. we also have caravans from all over so you won't have to make the trip by yourself. Well I dont have mine yet if I did I would come. I race Beat The Heat and that is my home track. I live in Memphis. It is a great track and hooks great. For the Fbodys that are coming if you havent changed out your whole rearend dont bring your slicks. My 95 Trans Am made it only two passes on slicks there due to the traction. I usually run about 2 tenths quicker to the 60ft mark there than anywhere else in my current car which is front wheel drive. If you dont know they dont like to hook when you are pushing over 450 hp and over 500ft/lbs of torque on a 8.5 inch wide slick. I can launch at 5500rpms and have no spin at all running nitrous off the line. Thats also at 14.5psi slick pressure. Most tracks I run around 12psi and launch at 3500rpm or I will spin. I have set my quickest et's and fastest trap speed on that track.
