GM Engineer says Camaro is 2008 Model

He claims the photo he saw looked "even better" than the concept vehicle show earlier this year. While this subjective assessment doesn't tell us much, it's safe to assume GM officials really meant it when they said the production car would be nearly identical to the concept. Jackson also claims Dr. Woychowski told him GM was "in a real rush to get it out the door," and "don't be surprised if it's by this time next year." General Motors has officially stated the new Camaro will go on sale in the first quarter of 2009. Woychowski comments seem to suggest that date could in fact come at least 12 months earlier than expected.

I'll be keeping my F-body Ty. I like not having to worry about wheelhop.

Remember the GTO's ET's stock the first year? Same as the F-body, and even now it's only a few tenths faster at best. I bet the Zeta will be slower stock, sans the SS, which has over 100 extra HP over the 4th gen F.

I starting to feel like this new camaro is becoming a Lame duck. The general public hasn't seen anything new from GM since it debuted at Detroit. Im kinda of board of all this hype to the point where I am loosing intrest in the new car. We need some type of update to make us drool just a little bit more!

Yes, I think they may have hyped it up a bit early, which caused this.

But The NY Autoshow isn't that far away, and I'd expect something from there, either the Production car, or a ton of drivetrain info.
