Default what the deuce?

ok, I pulled up the drivers trim panel in the trunk of my firebird today, and there is the 10 pin connector (6pin, space, 4pin) just sitting there. the wires leading to it were wrapped up, so its not meant to be connected to anything apparently, and there are only 6 wires going to it... what is this for?

Its the attachment for a cd changer upgrade if you have the monsoon sound system.

OOOOH, ok. is that something that can be done aftermarket? or should I just leave it, since I don't have the rest of the monsoon sound system?

Well if you have that wire then you should have the monsoon system or maybe bose if it was different in 96. You should be able to plug a Delco cd changer right in to that and it will work fine.
