i just bought a T56 six speed and a 1995 LT1 motor with computer, harness, all accessories, pedals, etc. etc.
when school starts in a week, the tear down begins. hopefully with some good fortune and alot of frustration i should have an LT1 powered six gear shifting machine where once there was garbage ![]() i will start a swap log when i get into the engine bay for real, but for now, just wish me luck

going to take some rags and paper towels and armor all wipes to school with me tomorrow and try to clean up everything a little bit. the guy i bought from was really nice, seemed honest, and included all the parts he said he would. He even threw in a driveshaft and radiator that he had for free.
the plan right now is old engine out, old transmission out, new transmission in, new engine in. i was really worried about spending alot of money and getting in over my head, but now that ive got all the stuff im just plain excited. im sure ill figure it out somehow, and i have alot of time and good points of reference (online mostly). i think i will just use this thread for updates since it is already in the right place. |

so the one thing i just realized i need to do soon is run all the rpo codes on my car, since i have never done them before, and i want to know what kind of fuel pump the car has from stock. From what ive been reading if it was a stock TPI setup then the fuel pump will provide enough pressure for the LT1 (i am planning on an adjustable fuel regulator too) up to around 400~450 horsepower. Since im not planning on making that much hp any time soon if it was a TPI 305 then i dont have to drop the tank... which would be really nice. otherwise i need a high pressure pump (inline or in tank?) to make around 40-45 psi apparently.
