Default Mirrors

Should I paint my door mirrors flat black?

Right now they're the same color as the car.

Is there something wrong with the existing paint?

The paint is "scuffed" on the outside like it rubbed on something abrasive....

Hmm, well I personally like the look of them matching the body color. But if they're scuffed up and beyond repair then why not.

I'm sure it's reparable. I just thought before I tried anything that I might see about throwing some more black on the car. Gloss black works too.. It was just a thought.

I was planning to do my sail panel and mirrors black with a white phoenix on the sail panel on both sides.... a long way down the road.

To have a body shop repaint it with the original color, it shouldn't cost more than $100 (assuming you remove/disassemble them). If not, go with gloss black and do a nice job at it. What happened to your mirrors is just barely starting to happen to the stock paint on my passenger side mirror (drivers side has been repainted) and it can't be fixed without a repaint. I think its age-related cracking or something. I've seen 93-97s with the whole door skins looking like that.

You get a win point because you knew exactly what I was thinking. I was hoping someone would ask 'what color would look good?' so I could say black. but you just HAD to kill it xD Good job though

I was thinking along the lines of AJ.

I was wanting to do a CETA mod, and a black sail panel and mirrors.

The mirrors are the only thing that I'd really be comfortable doing at the moment though.

Everyone thinks that gloss would look better though?

My weekend project
He didn't do his mirrors, but get an idea of what black will look like on your color car.

I absolutely love that car.. and have considered numerous variations of that paint scheme.

I'm thinking gloss black will look best, since my paint is pretty much like his, except glossy.

I like the look of it as well. Black accents are win in my opinion.
